ive not installed SQL before but ive followed the steps to the letter(I think) but im getting this error when I run the SCCm Prereq checker.

SQL Server Sysadmin rights Status - error

sql is installed as per microsoft with a default database instance. Set to run under local system account with windows authentication. Anyone point me to the problem/recitification?.

all help greatly apreciated.

Sorted.

Checker asks for Server/SQLInstance

I was entering the instalnce & not the server name as SCCm was going on the same box as SQL I thought there is no point in telling the checker its server name. i was wrong, Just entered the servername without instance & checker processed ok. Just need to update the Schema & then I can get down to installing SCCM.

I've got a problem with the same. Even if I leave the instance name out, so just the sql servername I get the message. I put the sccmserver as admin on the sqlserver and the sccmuser as sysadmin and it did not work.
What can I do?

Godamned, I can't figure it out that at the prerequisites test my SQL isn't accessible by the SCCMserver

I made the wsus installer sysadmin on the sql server of db's and put SCCMserver in administrators group on the sql server

Do you need some logs in particular? Otherwise I'll look for some sql logs. Does the prerequisite test make some logs too?

Ok it's working now. The thing NOT to do is that you install SCCM on a different instance that the default one

USE THE DEFAULT INSTANCE OF SQL!
