Do you know of a file that will stop packages from being place on a drive.
Example:
On our cluster DP servers, the SMS/SCCM drive (for packages) is not always the biggest drive as far as space. SMS/SCCM looks for the biggest drive on DP’s to place the package on. There is a file of some type, that prevents the package from being placed on any other drive other than the one specified in the file.
Thank you

Sure, the file name for SMS 2003 was "no_sms_on_drive.sms" and it was placed at the root of each drive that you did not want a DP to be present on.  I've seen this work a not work.  What I did to resolve this issue was to create a folder on the drive that I did want the DP populated on and add a share to it.  Create a new Site System in the Site Properties using the existing server name and the share.  Add the DP to this new server/share instead of the original site server's property.  There are some caveats depending on how many Packages you have though.  You need to go into each Package and change the DP that the Package is going to be present on.  This in turn will remove it from the old DP and populate it on the new DP.

I was told at MMS this year that using the "no_sms_on_drive.sms" file would not work with SCCM servers anymore.  As far as creating a DP goes in SCCM, there is no setting to tell SCCM which drive to populate on, and I have not read or heard of anywhere that would tell me that Microsoft has changed the issue of DP dirs populating on the drive that contains the most disk space.  The share method is the only way I know of to manage a DP in this manor.
