Hi, I have installed SMS 2003 on my server(Win 2003 server). It was working fine. Then I had some problems and reinstalled it.
Now everything is working fine but when i create a package and advertise it, the advertisements dont run automatically in the client system. Before I uninsatalled the advertisements ran automatically in the client system. Now I have to open the Add/Remove Programs in the client system, go to the add new program tab and select the specific advertised program and click run. Then only the advertisement it running. I have to run the program without doing all this, without user interaction. Can anyone help?

Are you putting a mandatory schedule on the ad?

Would the program/advert have run on the machine before at somepoint?  If so then SMS will not run it again unless either the schedule says it occurs every XXXX or you add another mandatory assignment.  Check the advert status messages and see if you've got an entry along the lines of "SMS will not run the program as a previous attempt was successful" (I forget the exact wording).

Start time just means it's available at that time.  But it'll never just randomly run on its own.  You have to tell it when by making a mandatory schedule.  That or the user has to go kick it off on his own.

Doh didn't see that bit.  Yes as Brian says you need a mandatory schedule onthe advert to actually kick it off without the user having to manually do anything.
