SP2 Boot image creation issue

0Hi Guys,
Ive downloaded Sp2 twice & run setup about 10 times now but evertime SP2 dosent complete, it always fulls over on Boot image creation. Anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem so i can get SP2 completly installed?

Update default boot image packages is - in process...
Create program Group - Not Started
Eveything thing else completes OK

here is the log. It always stops on extracting the boot images

Does the installation actually fail - or does it just keep spinning at "Update default boot image packages"?

I ran the upgrade last night on my central site and was amazed at how long the "Update default boot image package" process took. I observed the same logging and just let it ran. Eventually it completed successfully.

That step took over 2hrs for it to update the non mdt boot images for me, just let it run for awhile.

ok, will start & let it run over night..

maybe im not patient enough.

Thanks guys, i left it for 3 hours, checked back & it had completed succesfully. Didnt anticipate it to take 2-3 hours to create boot images when the rest of Sp2 completes in about 15-20mins.

Ok I'm worried about my install. Got the same symptoms as chiners_68. I begun yesterday at 11AM and we are more than 10hours later and it's still running



I looked in the logs and I can't figure out what is causing this and how to remedy :'(

It might sound simple, but did you check to see if there is a pop-up box buried under other windows?

What does Task Manager say about the process?
