Hello everybody,

Have a question regarding SUP/WSUS.

This is my setup:
One Central Site (parent domain) > 3 Primary Sites (each in different child domain). WSUS is installed on Central Site and on each Primary Site Server. SUP enabled on each server, the sync on Primary Sites is automatically set to sync with Parent (Central Server), that is by default. I don't see any errors in the logs, everything is working fine,

now the problem :) :
In SCCM console on Central Site when i go to Computer Management > Software Updates and select the updates ie for january 08 it displays on info for 90 clients or so for Installed, required, not required. No info for the clients for child site. If i go to the same spot on SCCM console on one of the primary Sites its showing the info for 1000's of clients.

Why the info is not displayed for all of my clients on my Central Site? I think it should be, right?

thx,
zemp

How long ago did you setup this new site? Yes, all clients information should show up in the Central Site console. The other reason you may see more information at the Primary Site as appose to the Central Site is if a Deployment of updates was deployed from the Primary hitting a subset of clients, and a deployment was deployed at the Central Site and targeted another set of clients.

I would add to also check your Status Filter Rules and Status Summary Rules. Let me know and i'll try and work with you to get you going.

I don't think my primary sites are reporting correctly to the Central Site.
Lets say on one of my Primary Site, i go to the collection containing all Computers for "San Diego" Site. On primary Site its showing 1317 Clients, if I go to the Central Site and display (show count) computers of same collection its showing only 37.

I don't see any errors in System Status

Have you ran any kind of Discovery? If not, i would do so. Maybe system discovery.

Try running the below query on your SQL SCCM database, and see what and how much data you get in the results.

select * from _res_coll_sms00001

If the data looks correct, then that is a sign SQL is doing it's job.

Then try Right clicking the "All Systems Collection" and UPDATE COLLECTION.

Can you send me or paste your colleval.log file to the post? Or do you see any errors in the colleval.log?

Update:
My Collections are based on subnets, the clients are showing up under All systems. When i right click on one of San Diego Clients i don't see any data under IP Subnet on Central Site, but if i do the same on Primary site i see the subnet info.

Richard,
i've run the system discovery and i see in logs that computers are discovered, some of the are getting ddrs created.

When i run your query i get the results, that means SQL is doing its job.

I tried several times to update All Systems Collection, but no luck. I will email you the colleval logs.

Hello,

Don't run Update Collection repeadly, those Update Collection action task will queue up. Unless we fixed that in this version. :-)

Let me know what you find out today. given the site had time to settle down.

I'm trying to understand if you are unable to see clients on a particular subnet? or unable to see clients subnet information?

Richard,

i am not able to see Client Information such as subnet info.
Another thing is on Primary Site i am able to see most of my clients approved, Client=yes on most of the clients ( 1000's) but on Central Site i see only 500 clients like this. Most of them have approved n/a

I would like to see you dataldr.log file please? and Hman.log.

Is this 500 client number count larger than what you was seeing at the Central Site yesterday? If so, i'm thinking it's taking time to puplate to the Central Site.

Do you know if you have back logs, most likely not, but i would check the inboxes.

Do you know if you have successful client scans happening?

Richard,
thx for the reply. Yesterday, I opened the case with PSS regarding my problem.
The issue was i had really backed up Inboxes, i mean really backed up :). Right now i have over 75% of my clients reporting correctly in Console and the # is raising.

Thx again for your help.
