I need to search libraries/tables for a particular string. I have to use green screen so no RDI searches.
I can do a PDM search on each library but this only outputs to print. Is there a way of outputting to database file that can be searched?

You would probably need to develop an application to do this.
For starters you can access the libraries, tables, and column names from SYSIBM.SQLCOLUMNS.
I would create an RPG program or Stored procedure to  first build a list of Libraries/Tables you wish to search, then process this list, passing in your search string, and output the Library, Table, and Column results to an output database.
