Hi Everyone

We have 1 primary site and 2 secondary sites. I tried to install sccm on one of the secondary sites and it continously fails to install the MP. I've tried over several days. Even went as far as to format the server, reinstall everything. Same thing. What's weird is that there are no logfiles for the MP installation. Everything else installs perfectly. This is what i've tried thus far:
· We checked all configurations on the primary and secondary site server · MP logs are not creating. · The IIS Default Web site is working fine · The necessary ports are open between primary and secondary site · DNS/WINS has no problems – name resolution is fine · Virtual directories are created in IIS · referred http://support.microsoft.com/?id=812614 - "Default permissions and user rights for IIS 6.0" - Checked Default permissions on IIS · We don’t have any WMI/DCOM errors · Uninstalled MP, IIS on secondary server · Reinstalled IIS with BITS, WEBDAV, ASP, and WWW · Enabled MP – Still same issue · For a test, we ran the MP.MSI manually then it completed successfully but without any logs. · Removed MP role from secondary - No change · Unable to browse MP Test URLs · Install MP.msi package manually · Checked Hman and sender.log after enabling MP - No process tracke
Am I missing something? I've really hit a dead street here and have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the site numerous times. Can anyone please point me in the right direction?

Something very strange...i reinstalled the secondary site and configured everything. The site came up in the console and everything looked fine. As soon as I logged onto the secondary site itself to check the log files....the sccm was uninstalled (no one besides myself has access to it)! Freaky! Nonetheless, I once again reinstalled it - ran setup directly on the secondary site and it installed fine. About an hour later I checked and the MP logfiles appeared. I never deleted or deinstalled the site from the console. The only error I got in the log file was:
MP Control Manager Error 12152Http verification .sms_aut (port 80) failed with no header received SMS_MP_CONTROL_MANAGER 4092 (0x0FFC) Failed to receive http response. Error 12152 SMS_MP_CONTROL_MANAGER

I downloaded and installed MDAC 2.8 and restarted the SMS Agent Host on the secondary site and everything began to function again. I checked the mpcontrol file and it showed Http verification .sms_aut (port 80) succeeded with status code 200, OK SMS_MP_CONTROL_MANAGER

I cannot explain this one; but at least my site is up & running again!
