Hi there,
I am looking for a way to enter custom information for each client in SCCM.  Currently, we use a Sharepoint site to track server names, locations, service tags, server model, power draw, etc...  However, it would be useful if this data was in SCCM and reports could be run off it.  Is there some way that this data can be linked with clients in SCCM?  I've considered having a text file on each server (containing the custom information related to that server) that SCCM can read from, but I also need to be able to modify this data.  If anybody has any insight or suggestions to how to do this, it would be greatly appreciated!

Chris posted this earlier this week.  You could customize it for your fields.  Basically, a human (your server build team) needs to get the data you want into a common area which ConfigMgr can read with Hardware Inventory, either the registry or WMI.

Thanks for the response.

That tool/script looks like the right direction, but I was hoping for something that could be edited from the SCCM console itself.  We decommission, physically move/change environment, re-patch, and re-baseline servers on a frequent basis.  Something that could be used within SCCM, without logging onto the actual server, is what I'm looking for.  Does anything like that exist?

Actually, nevermind.  The more I think about it, it's not really an issue to logon to the system.  Once baselined, our servers don't really change with regard to these custom properties.  And if they do, the script can be re-triggered to prompt an Admin to enter in the new information.

Thanks for that link!
