I have a client with 4 Primary locations, each has been independant of the other. All use Software metering, but are not using the same rules. The Central Site doesn not have software metering turned on, but now the client would like it turned on at the central site. (no boundaries or clients) My understanding of this is If you want information to come travel up from the child sites to the central site you will need to add all the rules of the lower sites to the Central site, so it knows what they are and can display the information. All the rules setup on the Central site will also propagate to the ALL child sites below it. If no rules are set up on the Central site, then no information will be displayed/gathered from the child sites, on the central site. (or are they just errors in the logs) My assumption is if no rules are on the Central site, but Software metering is turned on, it will not erase the rules on the lower levels. If I have a good grasp on this let me know, or if I'm completely wrong let me know. I could have swore once upon a time Software Metering info didn't travel up to parent/central sites..?
