Hi,

I'm getting below mentioned errors while trying to advertise package on Windows 2000 Proff.

<![LOG[Software Distribution Site Settings for the client are missing from WMI.]LOG]!><time="21:43:15.601+000" date="09-03-2008" component="ContentAccess" context="" type="3" thread="692" file="softdistpolicy.cpp:1041">
<![LOG[CacheConfig::InitializeFromWmi - GetSWDistSiteSettings failed with 0x80004005. Default site settings will be used]LOG]!><time="21:43:15.601+000" date="09-03-2008" component="ContentAccess" context="" type="3" thread="692" file="cachemanager.cpp:1739">

the above mentioned errors are generated on the client machine after the advertisement fails. the SMS server i'm using is 2003.

Can anyone plesae help me out with this?

check in policyagent.log if there are errors for downloading policy. If yes, check if SMS server is accessible from the client and BITS service is running. You can also check in locationservices.log if the MP information is received by the client.

This error means "Access denied". Use the MP troubleshooter from the SMS 2003 toolkit to figure out if your MP is working properly.
