Has anyone done any testing with or used Stand-alone media for OS deployment.  I have the need to use this for a couple remote locations that have network connectivity (so they'll be able to join the domain), but are not currently managed by SMS.

So far testing looks promising but one problem I'm having is that drivers are not installing.  I'm using Auto Apply Drivers for driver installs which works fine on this particular hardware model when doing normal TS installation, but not with the offline DVD's.  I have searched around and found no caveats stating that Auto Apply Drivers will not work with Stand-alone media.

I even went as far as to peek into the ISO files that get created by the TS media wizard when the Stand-alone media is created.  Within each there is the SMS\PKG directory structure and under PKG are all the package codes for the packages referenced in the task sequence.  No sign of any driver packages.  Even more suprising is that in my TS I do have an action to install a Driver Package for monitor drivers.  This package is not in the offline media ISO's either.  This seems to possibly be a bug.

See

It mentions that 'Auto Apply Drivers' can't be used with Stand-alone media.

thank you.  I did find the Driver Package in my offline media.  It was hiding among 50 or so other package codes.  I'll setup a separate TS with a driver package just for use with offline media ISO.
