Hi. Just using the OCT to deploy Office 2007 via SCCM. All works very nicely

My question is regarding suppressing the pop-ups after first install - in particular stopping the box that asks to sign up to Microsoft Update. I've checked out the MS documentation http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc179123(TechNet.10).aspx and it appears you cannot use the OCT to prevent the MS Update question coming up, other than using a group policy. I would have thought it would be a registry entry that could be added into the OCT/MSP. Additionally you want SCCM/WSUS to handle all the Office updates so don't want to turn this function off inadvertently

Just wondered if anyone else had hit this problem

Thanks

I'd just use a GPO, but you might see if this works...

"to get rid of the option to go to Office Updates at the end of the install, you must go into the msp file, go to the Modify Setup properties section, and add a property named HIDEUPDATEUI with the value set to True."

Quoted from this website page: http://www.appdeploy.com/packages/detail.asp?id=860

Thanks - Yes, have seen that article in appdeploy. This is taken from the documentation in http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc179018(TechNet.10).aspx

quote:

HIDEUPDATEUI--If set to True, hides the Check for Updates button on the completion dialog. This property is ignored if the completion dialog is not displayed. The default value is False.

So I think that doesn't stop the Microsoft Update box coming up when the user first runs office
