I've got a weird deal with some clients not showing up as installed in my SMS database...and was hoping someone could steer me into some client side logs that might show why?

The clients are in a subnet boundary...and the appropriate SMS client installation accounts have full rights.  Looking at the clients....they appear to have all the components loaded OK.  What's weird is some of the clients have updated the database...but a hand full have not.  I'm trying to figure out why.   The SMS account can connect to all the clients admin$ share...

Once a SMS client gets installed what are some logs that I can look at to see if the client has a problem contacting a MP, or otherwise not able to update the sms database?

CCMexec.log
Clientlocation.log

Would be one place to start. Check the C:\WINDOWS\system32\CCM to see if something is even there to start with.

I wonder whether you have made any progress on solving this problem? We have a similiar problem and haven't managed to find a cause yet.

OK, so have you all looked at the logs Matt mentioned?

OK, that's different.  So the machines show in the console, but have no inventory?  Have they assigned to a site to get policy?  Policy would tell them to turn on HINV and send it up at some interval.  Clientlocation.log is good?

One client, many, or all, or all in one subnet?

Hmm, looks like my last questions were chewed.  Forums are getting flaky.  Have you tried the SMS Client Center to look at a few clients?
