Need help!

Can not install security patch on Windows 2000 SP4 server. I have reinstalled the SMS client through the clinet push wizard and monitored the ccmsetup.log and it appears to have installed correctly. I have run the WMI diagnostic script, rebuilt the WMI repository and reinstalled the client using smsclean.

In the event log there is an error meesage indicating that the Windows Update Service is failing to install KB941569. When I temporarily put this client in the Active Directory OU that doesn't use SMS but Windows Update Service it also fails on this patch. I have to do a custom install and not include this patch. I was thinking about installing Windows Media Player 9 on the server because the patch is for this version. Anyone come across this problem?

The servers in our environment can not surf the web. We install Security patches via SMS. I am not sure why a Windows 2003 Server needs this update?

Maybe you have the XP version of the patch and not the 2000 version?
