VB Scripts copied to Distribution Points have heads cut off

Weird problem. I have a package that I'm distributing to multiple distribution points. I was getting a lot of program mismatch failures at a couple of sites. The package contains a VB script. I'm noticing on a couple of my DP's that - if I browse to the SMSPKGD$ directory where the package is located - whenever I update the package, that the top of the VB script is gone. Line 1 of the file on these DP's is somewhere in the middle of the script. If I delete the package and re-copy it out there, it looks fine. I've done a lot of packages with VBscripts before. But a couple of my DP's are new - and its the new ones that are acting screwy. A problem with Binary Differential Replication maybe???

Yes, I know this is an old post, I’m trying to clean up older posts that are unanswered. Did you ever figure this out?

Do you have any packet shapers or caching servers on your network? I have seen issues with both of them, they give similar issue to what you are describing.

We do have some WAN accelerators that do some caching, but if I'm remembering correctly, the DP having the problem, and the PSS (where the package source is located) are in the same rack. And it was only doing this when I would edit the .vbs, and update the DP. Other files (.exe's, etc) weren't affected.

I have not heard of this issue except where a WAN accelerator exist, if you can reproduce the error, I would recommend contact CSS about this issue.

Just a hunch but have you tried disabling "Binary Diff" on the package?
