Folks

When launching my Image Installation CD it comes up with the pre-install phase without a problem. I then get the "formatting/partition" progress bar. Everything appears to be okay but i noticed that if I leave the machine in this state it just "sits" there for up to an hour before moving on to the installation of the OS.

Now for the weird part! When the above "formatting/partition" bar appears and I then "move" the bar to another physical location on the screen, the whole process immediately moves onto the OS installation! Has anybody else experienced this at all?? Very very strange!

I have the same issue. I presented it to microsoft but their PG dropped the bug escalation because they can't repro it.

I have the current dell business laptops desktops 740/745 620/630/420/430 and they all exhibit the same behavior.

I run SMS 2003 with SP3, using deployment workbench to create my images. (server 2003's winpe via MS Deployment).

There are no presented errors in any logs regarding this.

I had similar issues but it turned out that there was another window that popped up behind the progress bar which was looking for some input.
However I did come across something that _might_ help you guys out.
