I've got a problem with Windows Vista and Office 2007 that I hope someone can shed some light on for me... I've got both a Windows XP and a Windows Vista task sequence set up and running. Well, at least everything WAS running. Now something has quirked up and I can't seem to figure out what's wrong. Each of these task sequences is composed of a basic .WIM image that only has the OS and the latest Windows Updates installed (no software is added as part of the .WIM file). If I deploy my Windows Vista task sequence with some additional applications (Firefox, QuickTime, JAVA, Symantec AntiVirus, etc..) layered on during the deployment process (using the Install Software task item), and I do NOT install Office 2007, it works just fine. If I then add in Office 2007, it quirks up, and every item in the task sequence after my Office install item gets ignored. Here's the odd part... In my Windows XP task sequence I have the exact same Office 2007 package (same package, same program), and it works just fine! Also, if I image a machine with the Windows Vista task sequence (leaving out Office) and then manually install Office using the SCCM source files and installation script (all my software installs use VBScript wrappers), it works just fine! So has anyone ever come across a problem installing Microsoft Office 2007 on Windows Vista during the OS deployment process?
