I've found the R2 evaluation but has anyone found the non evaluation download on their Volume Licensing site? Is it only available at this time to evaluate with the notion of having serial numbers ready within the 180 days?

Sorry, it's not going to be available on the website until Oct 1. They release it to the web generally the first day of the month after it's been signed off. That would make it Oct.

Also, R2 is not free. So even when it is available, it won't be a free download.
