I have two windows 2000 clients which will not deploy the sccm client due to an error in the ccmsetup.log reporting "Not enough disk space to create cache of specified size". One client has 2.5GB of space and the other just under 5GB. Is there a default cache size for the client?

Are those systems at Sp4?  The default cache size for the client is 5gb.  But I don't believe that will prevent you from installing the client.  It would likely adjust the usuable cache to the size available to the system.

Hope this helps.

Paul's right. Having less than the 5 GBytes of available space for the cache shouldn't cause installation to fail. In those circumstances, some percentage less than the free space is used.

Are you using any of the client.msi command line options for the cache (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb680980.aspx)? They provide a lot of flexibility for configuring this part of the client, but if used incorrectly, I suppose they could cause some headaches. If you're not using any of the command line options, try doing so to see if it resolves these errors.
