Windows Updates 11204 errors

I have approx 200 clients that are SP3 that are failing to run the monthll patches, they all return an 11204 error.
If i check patch install log i get this:failed to evaluate updateshRes=0x80040400

and in scanwarpper log i get:Checking SMS Client Component [SmsCommon]. Required version = [2.50.3174.1119]. Software Updates Scan Tool 15/05/2008 20:03:00 4192 (0x1060)

Im almost tearing my heair out as i cannt find whats wrong to fix it,

can anybody help?

What does the smswushandler.log & windowsupdate.log say?

Hey, do you still have this probem? I have a few (~100 machines with this issue and fixed most of them by installing (re-installing) the Windows Update Agent 2.0.
