we use group policy for everything here... mostly pushing software... which i am trying them to get away from, and people wonder why it takes so long to log in :-/ I mean sus is pretty easy to use, @ least our set up is, and i guess if it isn't broke why fix it... it downloads the updates, we approve them and it pushes them out (abreaviated version of course) do you approve them in WSUS still or configmgr? ... so let me see if i am getting the gist of it... 1) since wsus sends the catalog to the clients, who scan themselves to see what patches apply... it saves on bandwidth 2) since clients report status back to configmgr... it can use this to create better reports, and further control when updates get pushed via maintence windows 3) configmgr becomes a central mgmt point for basically the entire organinzations deployment schema (ie deploy os, patches, and apps) 4) group policy will need to be scrutnized as to remove policies that will break the update processes yea... ney? any others... mgmt will eat this up... if i am right =)
