Assigning the Affected User of an Incident to be a user from the CMDB - Exchange Connector - Tuesday, May 22, 2012 6:56 AM

Hi,

I am currently trying to setup SCSM 2012 to be able to service our external clients as well as our Internal Users (Domain Users).
I have successfully setup the Exchange Connector 3.0 and SendEmail.
My question is this:
When a user that is not in the CMDB sends an email to the Exchange connector mailbox, an Incident is created. The affected user is set to Unknown (Unknown).
Meanwhile, in the eventlogs I see that a user IS created in the CMDB for this external user.
In my testing that I have conducted:
If I enter an incident (created by Exchange Connector) that has 'Unknown' set as the Affected User, and set it to the CMDB user that was created when the Exchange Connector processed the original email, I can send emails to this user and in general everything works fine.
Is there a way to configure the exchange connector so that the user that is created in the CMDB is set as the Affected User instead of this 'Unknown' user?

Thank you

Yes, I know this is an old post, I’m trying to clean up older posts that are unanswered.
Did you ever figure this out?
