All-

I' m trying to deploy our new McAfee EPO agent to our enterprise using the ' FramePkg.exe /silent' command. However, I keep receiving the error 1603 from SMS stating that the program failed to run. I can run the exact same command from the workstation and the agent installs without any problem. Would I need to create a custom .MIF file to work with this .exe? I' m new to that, so may need some help writing it. Let me know your thoughts!

The noob!

Eric

I don' t believe /silent is an option for installshield compiled packages. You can set the verbose setting on the program and direct it to an output log file for troubleshooting the issue. Details are included here:

Yes, works fine for us using the command line:

FramePkg.exe /install=agent /S

For those interested you can use it in a gpo startup script:

if exist " c:\program files\network associates\common framework\cmdagent.exe" goto skip_agent
%0\..\framepkg.exe /silent /install=agent
:skip_agent

(beware of wordwrap)

Jane-

Sounds like a great alternative. If SMS doesn' t succeed, I' ll be sure to give the GPO a shot.

Thanks for the insight everyone, I love this forum!
