Hi,

I'm trying to get my head around something that I think is pretty simple:

My environment is SMS 2003, OSD, BDD 2007 and I'm using ZTI, etc.

I'm happy with the New and Refresh computer scenario as I fully understand that - I'm trying to get my head around the Replace computer scenario. I understand that the "Old Computer" SMS Program will capture the state and will back up the UserState based upon the machine name (we use SerialNumber queried from WMI for just about everything uncluding in WinPE).

However, when preparing for the deployment of the New computer - how do I ensure that the state from the Old computer is brought accross. Essentially, where do I specify in the BDD database the computer entries for New and Old computers?

And what entries do I need to put in the CustomSettings.ini? (I've specified the OS Package, Program and Silent install in the Bootstrap.ini already and anything else for other OS programs is picked up from the BDD database if required).

In BDD 2.5 it was simpler - when you extended the database, you simply specified the old and new computer names, however, in BDD 2007 I'm finding it a bit more difficult...
