KB940349 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940349/ doesn't seem to be part of a regular sync from MS Updates. For some reason MS has decided not to include this particular rollup.

I'd like to distribute it as part of a monthly patching cycle and not as an individual package.

How does a person inject patches/binaries into the WSUS database for distribution? Then again, perhaps this is irrelavent if the update agent can't identify it.

Any help is appreciated....Randy

You can't inject it into WSUS.  You would just need to create a seperate package and have it depoly at the same time as the patches.

I haven't tried this but you could try using the Updates Publisher feature. This link should explain the process in more detail: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb531022.aspx

Thanks  for the responses. It doesn't look like I'll be able to reduce the # of reboots from 2 to 1. I understand coordinating this patch with others via scheduling, I just wanted to be a bit neater about it.
