jmm -> Backup Task Initiation (5/6/2008 6:37:31 PM)

For the purposes of testing backup options such as AfterBackup.bat, I have been changing the backup schedule to observe the results.
The Backup ConfigMgr Site Server Task does not always observe the new schedule, does not initiate and does not log any errors.
Usually I set the Schedule Start After value to a time 5-10 minutes in the future of the same day and the Latest start time to a time 1 hour greater than the Start After value.
Restarting the Executive and Component Services does not seem to help the issue.
If I schedule the backup to occur well into the future, such as 5-10 hours, it works fine.

Ideally, I would like to be able to manually initiate the task and not wait for long periods of time for the task to begin through the schedule.

Can anyone offer insight on how I may modify my strategy?  Thanks in advance!

Have you ever tried to just start the SMS_SITE_BACKUP service?
