Halidan -> SCCM Update Publisher Question (6/10/2008 1:15:34 PM)

Hello, I apologize if this has already been covered, but I haven't seen the answer anywhere so I'll ask again.

I'm trying to use my SCCM server (with WSUS 3.1) to push out adobe updates.  I have managed to get the self signed certificate to work on the server to the point that I can now publish the adobel flash .cab file.   I have found the update in SCCM and have been trying to push it out to my test machine, and this is where I am now having the problem.  The update pops up on the machine, and fails to install every time.

I am getting a fun little error message in the windowsupdate.log file

Based on this error, I was assuming that I needed to import the same self-signed certificate into my workstation, so I did, but I still get the same error.

Any suggestions. Have I completely misread what I have?

Rob.

Ok, found the answer, in case anyone want's to know.  I had missed a step in the process.  I needed to set group policy to allow custom update deployments. Some over at TechNet gave me a link to this article.  Explained my goof up.   Hope it helps someone else.
