swood -> SMSWakeup / Nightwatchman on Win2008? (6/18/2008 12:56:48 PM)

Getting ready to move my SCCM primary site server over to Win2008. Will SMSWakeup and Nightwatchman run on this OS?

Hi Sandy,

In short:
- 1E WakeUp 5.2.66.5  = Yes
- NightWatchman = Not applicable/has no server component
- Agility Framework = No, IIS 7.0 issues (will afaik be solved by the end of the year)

HTH,
Serge

Thanks for the info. I think the Agility Framework issue will put me back to Windows 2003 for now.

What we did, is install the Agility Framework DB (named instance) on the SCCM Server 2008 box and set up a VM Server 2003 for the AF Web part (combined it with the SCCM Reporting Point role).

Cheers,
Serge

What database are you running on your Win2008 server?

Well, I have two setups running for the moment:
- Windows Server 2008 Standard x64 - SQL 2005 SP2 x64
- Windows Server 2008 Enterprise x86 - SQL 2005 SP2 x86

Trying to make up my mind for the final production config, mostly because of an OpsMgr issue with the x64 setup. To monitor SCCM I need to install the 32bit SCOM Agent, but I'm not fully confident that it will be capable of monitoring the x64 parts from A to Z. On the other hand if  I'm pushing out the 64bit SCOM Agent I have  no SCCM monitoring at all ...
I'm leaning towards the x86 setup now, but for the 1E AF both work :-)

Cheers,
Serge

Thanks for the information. I was under the impression that SQL 2005 wouldn't install on Win2008. Thanks for the update!
