jonf -> command or script for initiating certain actions? (6/19/2008 1:57:26 PM)

I am looking for a command or script to initiate the 'Software Updates Scan Cycle' action.  We have a detection mechanism on our network that can shoot a command or script to a client.  We are looking to have it force a scan for missing patches on the SCCM server.

What is the command to initaite this action?

TIA

I forgot (apologies in advance) where I got this original script from.  I've updated it a few times, and I think added some code here and there, but this should give you can idea.  Rename the attached to .vbs.  It presumes you have local admin rights & can get to the c$ on the target computer.  Note that some actions cannot be done, like User Policy refresh--because the user context is all wrong.  But if you need that action, I've got that as well on my blog. (as a button for Ron's web console)

Edit: I modified the script to run locally without any message boxes.  I have it specifically targeting Software Updates scan cycle.  if anybody wants the file, let me know and I'll post it.

Thanks to skissinger for the hookup!
