juliesmi -> Trying to install SCCM in old SMS environment (6/19/2008 2:50:48 PM)

We were hoping to install SCCM 2007 today.  After meeting all of the pre-requisites, we were only given the option to install a secondary site.   This domain had a SMS 2003 installation once upon a time, but the tech team decided not to implement the program.

So.... instead of uninstalling SMS, they imaged the machine.  I did receive messages about particular attributes already existing when I extended the schema for CM 2007, so I went through and looked at the schema log file and found the objects that has already existed (which I assume were from SMS 2003), and renamed them.  I extended the schema once again, then ran CM setup hoping to be able to install my primary site.

Unfortunately, that was not an option.  Can anyone suggest what I should do next?

Thanks

Julie Smith

It's probably just the media.  Is it the ConfigMgr07 sp1 download?  You may need to install from the ConfigMgr07 RTM media, then upgrade to sp1.  Or get the SP1 slipstreamed media--which I'm not sure if available quite yet?  I seem to recall it was going to be available really soon, but I haven't checked lately.

You were right, it was the media.  I downloaded another copy, and all is well.

Thanks!
