We need to rebuild our SCCM Server from scratch - move to a new box, different drive structure, etc... so backup and repair is not an option for us.
I do wonder about the clients already installed. We will be keeping the same site code when rebuilding - will the clients attach to the new server or will we need to uninstall and reinstall all of the clients?

The short answer, yes.  We went through this also.  I assume you have the AD extended.  The cients will be orphaned for a bit (3 days in all for us).  They will contact the AD for a MP and grab the new ip address.  Yes,  DNS must be updated as well.  We did have about 5% of the machines just refuse to get the new address.  You could look in the log and see that it was trying but just wouldn't reassign.  We were forced to repair the client and it came over.  They will be pulled in just fine.
