I'm trying to create a collection of computers from a security group with user accounts in it.  I'd like to use the "last logged on user" to achieve this.. unless there's a better way.

But is there a different approach for SCCM?

I can't get the query to run from the link.  And i see there's already a canned query that pulls "systems last logged on by user" in SCCM so perhaps this is easier to do in SCCM?

Unfortunately...assuming I understand what you are looking for this is a situation where it is either one or the other. Your Collection query can be setup to either collect users by security group membership or by last logged on user. Although.... you might beable to set a criteria that says somthing like (If user last logged on = member of security group X then ) it would become a member of designated collection. I will give it a go and post the querry should it work.

Thanks to both of you.  It looks like from the link I posted earlier, that it's been done in SMS 2003.

I'm trying to get a stop-gap method in place.  Right now we're using user accounts to deploy software (non-SCCM) and I want to target machines with SCCM instead... but the computer accounts aren't linked to users presently, so I see this as a way of doing that until we can formally link users to computers with a marker of some kind that can be discovered by SCCM.

Skissinger, does your query require SystemCenterTools?  Is that something that's deployed to all clients?
