mhudson -> Config Mgr Tools Web Site (7/13/2008 10:35:34 PM)

Well my wife has allowed me to spend some money at the end of the month. One will a rather large purchase for myself [:D]  the other will be a domain/web site for "FREE" Configuration Manager tools.  I am planning on putting a simple site together that will house or locate all the great tools we have created or found that deals with SCCM.  How many times have we pointed people 15 different directions for tools?  I plan to make the site have code that can be copied and downloaded.  The difference is that I will also try to link to the orginal content since the creators deserver that.  No tool will be downloadable from my site without the permission of the creator, hence the link.

I have the following categories:

Right click (4) (all the right tools that you can find)
Advertisement (3)  (tools pushed down via advertisements, change cache size and such)
VBScript (0) (vbscript tools run on the client or server)
Powershell (4) (powershell tools run on the client or server)
Stand Alone (7) (these are the compiled tools or web programs link Ron's web console
Database (0)  (tools people have use to pull or touch the SCCM datase)
Other (0)

I need tool links and category help.
I do have a vendor list that admins can purchase tools from as well.

If have enough interest in it and it goes well then I might look at a revamp of the site in the near future.

Thanks,

Here's a right-click list to get you started:

And, I'm sure you'll want to include links to Zander's tools.

I applaud your efforts, but why another site?  Why not use the myITforum WIKI?

I have used the Wiki, which is a good starting point,  One thing is that some tools will only work with SCCM not SMS. I am looking at seperating them all out by type/category as well as other items on the site.  If we can split up the Wiki with categories then that is fine.  I myself have several tools on the Wiki.  If the community agrees that we just need to leave it on the Wiki then I live with that.  I don't see a reason to split people up.  Maybe we can have a poll to figure out the best approach.
