jdavis375 -> Slow WIM file download in OSD (7/14/2008 3:59:13 PM)
|
I've beat on this most of the day...hoping someone can show me something obvious that I'm missing. I have an OSD TS set up for deploying Vista. Once the workstation PXE boots and starts the TS, it formats the drive and then starts downloading the WIM file. I noticed that it was taking significantly longer than I thought it should have...the WIM is 3.5gig, and it was taking about 15 minutes to download. When I checked the network utilization on the DP server, it was hovering at about 4% of the gigabit connection during the WIM download. Last week when testing some of this, it downloaded the wim in about a minute and a half...i.e. ten times faster. It's almost like the TS is seeing the connection as 100Mbit instead of a gigabit connection. I don't know what changed, but the slow speed it very frustrating. If I get an F8 prompt and map a drive to the DP manually to copy the WIM (just to test the network speed), it uses 40% of the gigabit connection...the speed I would expect to see the TS use. Any ideas for why this is going so slow...and how to fix it? Thanks in advance,
