bbradley83 -> Inventorying DEP setting (7/19/2008 2:14:12 AM)

We're using SCCM SP1, and, I was recently asked to provide inventory information on all my computers as to their DEP (Data Execution Prevention) setting.  This is set in the Boot.ini, and, boot.ini settings can be viewed in the Registry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control, in the SystemStartOptions Value.

I'm assuming I could modify the MOF to pick up these settings, but, we're part of a larger enterprise system, and, they don't allow sites to modify, and, usually don't change the MOF more frequently than 2-3 times a year.

Any other ideas on how I can provide a report on DEP settings?  Is it being pulled up already, just buried in the thousands of fields?

Thanks!

Editting the MOF is the best way to do this.

You could create MIF files but that adds allot of overhead and when you want to clean it up it will take forever.
