Hey guys, I have been trying to install SP3 via SMS 2003 but are running into different problems every time. I have a script running some checks like if sp3 allready is installed, uninstalling the KB925877 (if installed), installing the subinacl.msi in order to be able to reset registry and file permissions (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949377). I still get the "access denied" error though. I have also tried disabeling the antivirus but it doesn't help. Have any of you out there been able to deploy the sp using SMS? If so, how? Using script? ... Help, please. Cheers, SMS-guy

Here's what I run in the Package, Programs properties, command line: i386\update\update.exe /passive /overwriteoem /norestart If SP3 is already installed, Update.exe will exit out with a specific error code that you can track in the Status Messages. I'm not familiar with the two KB's you mentioned. Hope this helps! Dale
