mjmarcum -> Disabling user input w/ Remote Control in SMS 2003? (9/23/2008 8:27:52 AM)

Hi all, I have a quick question regarding the ability of SMS 2003 to disable user input when remote controlling a PC. I work in an environment when it is sometimes necessary to take control of PC's and the users (union workers) cannot be directly contacted. These users sometimes forcibly shut down or otherwise disrupt our activities simply because they do not understand what is going on.

So my question is simply, is there a way within SMS to disable the user's ability to control the PC while it is being remote-controlled? Thanks in advance for your responses.

Since you can never script out the power button, in those situations what I've done is launched Notepad, and put up a note; and waited a minute or so--waiting for a human to type in the note acknowledging, or to call me at the phone# I put in the note.  If no acknowledgement--there likely isn't someone watching the screen so you can go ahead & do your work.
