suddin -> Redployment of Software (9/29/2008 3:29:30 PM)

One of my client machine XP failed.I repaired its installation instead of reinstallation of whole OS. Soon after booting, in process manager CCMEXEC process turned into CCMREPAIR.After a 5 minutes, it got back to normal. what does CCMREPAIR do.?
Now, i dont have any software installed into newly repaired Winxp OS.Further, in collection container, SCCM showing multiple hostname of same machine which i repaired.how can i remove duplicate name. Furthermore, how do i reploy those packages again to repaired Windows XP machine.

regards

CCMREpair is just the client repairnig itself.  check to see if one is marked as "obsolete"  To redeploy the apps you will need to manually add the computer to static collections.  The computer should pull itself it and out of the dynamic collections as needed.  This becomes very much a manual process at this point.

it means that my existing Package/Program/Advertisement/Collection will not work.
which process monitors installation of software at client site in SCCM so that i can monitor process using SMS Trace tools.
Oddly enough typing \\servername\SMSPKC$ gives  error that "No network provider accepted given network path"

Regarding \\servername\SMSPKC$, assuming that wasn't a typo, try \\servername\SMSPKGC$

At a client, once it has successfully retrieved and evaluated the policy (meaning it's SMS Guid was in the collection), the log file to monitor at the client is execmgr.log

Well...i was quite a kind showing lack of patience in asking that \\servername\SMSPKGC$ is not working..actually, it works when i  complete certain steps of package deployment...anyways it is working...
What it all boils down to is that existing advertisement of package/software for repaired windows Xp installation wont work...i need to create new one for repaired ones...or just reassign package to the distribution point...
