(10/7/2008 2:19:18 PM) I need to do an AD discovery on a specific OU in AD and have those systems put in their own collection and then discover the rest of the computers through heartbeat or other methods. Is there a way to do funnel machines from a specific OU to a specific collection in SMS 2003 SP3?

criticalerror -> RE: Collection based on specific AD OU? (10/7/2008 3:00:06 PM) Create a group in AD with members of all machines in the OU and then build your collection based off that AD group. This will make the collection dynamic. If the members of the OU arent going to change (never happens) then you can use the makecol utility to create a static collection. Use AD system discovery and heartbeat as normal.
