Upgrading to Wakeup 5.5

Planning on upgrading my SMSWakeup 5.2.66.5 server to Wakeup 5.5. The Installation guide does not mention any issues with upgrading within 5.x versions. When I run setup for Wakeup 5.5, it wants to installed things to a separate directory. How will this play with an existing installation? Will it detect an existing database?

The answer appears to be to uninstall everything first and then reinstall everything back.
