For the machines I can wake up overnight it is not a problem, but there are quite a few (e.g. laptops) which need to be done during the daytime. I found that to get them to work properly they need to be patched with the latest cumulative update of IE8, otherwise certain things (e.g HTML emails in Outlook) don't work. I tried including the patch via the IEAK8, but it tries to install it before the reboot so does not recognise that IE8 is installed. If I try doing it as a task sequence I get the same problem unless I set it up to autologin on reboot so it configures IE8 first, but when I set that up it bombs out saying there was an unexpected reboot.
I guess that (as usual) I'm missing something obvious, so thought I'd check how other people manage to update XP to IE8 without too much hassle.
