This does not include OSD support, just support for Windows 8 as a managed client.

KB2750782 adds support for W8 +2012 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2750782 but doesn't say anything about OSD.

Note You cannot apply this update on Configuration Manager clients directly. You must install the update on the site server, and then deploy the generated package to the clients.

Will this have to be deployed after the R3 patch or what- i still have some clients that don' have R3 yet so will i put on R3 fist then this one?

MS have inferred that it will NOT be a new service pack for SCCM 2007, but probably just a patch, which is a good thing.

Heard a rumor that there may be support forthcoming for Win 8 in SCCM 2007 in the form of a service pack (???). But no OSD support in 2007 - yes in 2012 SP1 though.

SCCM 2007 SP2 suprisingly WILL support Windows 8 and Server 2012 to an extent, but specifically NOT FOR OSD.
SCCM 2012 DOES NOT support Windows 8 or Server 2012 at all, until SP1 due out 2013, also suprising!

If you want to deploy Windows 8 using SCCM 2007 now, capture a WIM of Win 8, and deploy that WIM in the task sequence, works fine but unsupported obviously. And good luck with driver support.

Limited support will be available. Microsoft is not saying when it will be available after Win8 ships, or what "limited" actually means.

Not sure it will work in 2007 unless there is a SP planned. I can imagine they will prefer you to migrate to SCCM 2012 to support win8/Server 2012.

I am not sure what Microsoft's plans are but I can tell you that you will get a BSOD deploying Win 8 using SCCM 2007. I have tried and BSOD every time but it did apply the source files to the drive.

With Windows 8 in the near future, does anyone know if there are plans for CM 2007 SP2 R3 to support it from a client side and OSD perspective. I understand that CM 2012 should support it with it's SP1 release.

Any info would be appreciated.
