Nomad Branch 3.2 access denied. Using with SCCM

Hi,
I am using SCCM 2007 sp2 (64bit) servers in one forest and XP sp3 workstations in a separate untrusted forest. The DP and XP workstations have Nomad branch 3.2 installed. I have also installed the branch gui on the XP client to verify that the download is being throttled. The packages I have setup get delivered by sccm but nomad branch is not doing anything during the download process, and this seems to be due to access denied message, but I would have thought that if the process worked by sccm then the nomad client should also work. I have not changed any permissions on the packages, they have users:F and Administrators:F

Assume the above log snippet is from a target client machine? Also appears you are only prestaging the package content and not actualy executing anything:

Check the Admin Guide for the registry value PermittedLSZShares. It addresses the folling data you see in the NMD log at service startup:

This reg key value on the source DP must contain the actual $harename for the SMS Pkg Source folder. The above values are the DEFAULT values, and 99.9% of Admins use a DIFFERENT share for pkg source (e.g. SMSPKGF$). Simply add the proper share name into this key on the SERVER install of Nomad (I'd also recycle the NMD service) and try again.

The log is from the target machine. Is there a nomad log on the DP or primary server as well?
I want to use NomadBranch for throttling, so the first part of the distribution method should be for nomadbranch to pick up the fact a software distribution has been triggered and then download the software using its throttling method. I haven't set any special parameters, so I guess the --prestage-- is all part of the first download process, since subsequent requests will be using the peer to peer method.
I added CM_DP (the actual DP share name) and SMSPKG to the PermittedLSZShares on both the DP server and the xp pc, but the message was still Inaccessible path and access is denied.
Does Nomad Branch work across forests with no trust in place? SCCM works so I thought the nomad client would automatically work.
I'm keen to get this working so any help is appreciated.

working off memory here as you are treading dangerously close to nedding a formal Support case opened (are you an existing customer or simply testing on your own?)
 
With the LSZShare info missing from your DP registry (does not need to be changed on the clients, BTW), there is a process around maintaining integrity of the files using LSZ security stuff. this info is forst created on the DP in an LST file (per package). That LST file is then also provided to the client as a comparison (I have THIS info on the DP; you should caslculate the same info on your side when you download!). The clients then also have an LST file (per package). Since your package got hosed up (LSZShare data missing) the server was unable to create a valid LST file (which should also conatin the path to the pkg source, which is not there in the LST file)... Client then tries to use that LST path info to find the source, and it fails. Fix? delete the LST file on the DP and on all clients where you targeted the advert. make a simple update/refresh of the pkg source to trigger the process again (creates a new LST file) and all should be good. Also, if you create another new pkg and advert, all should work fine going forward.
 
And yes, the DP install of Nomad also creates a log where you can review all of the above activity.

...also another piece of data from an internal resource monitoring this thread that I missed:

It appears in the log that you're using the network access account in CfgMgr, and Nomad cannot fall back and use that account.

The fix for this would probably be that you need to include both the DP name and DP virtual directory name in the PermittedLsZShares reg key. It doesn't mention this in the docs but is a requirement.
 
If you're using default DP folder names (SMSPKGx$) then this won't be an issue as they are automatically included in the reg key but if you have changed the DP folder name (as you have here to CM_DP) then you need to add both the new DP folder name and its corresponding virtual directory name (in this case probably SMS_DP_CM_DP).
