Has anyone seen much about the windows surface tablet? I've only heard about it from others and it sounds like it will be pretty good? I've not used a windows tablet so don't know if it will be as good as an iPad? Don't know if I should wait for the new microsoft one or just buy the iPad.

Windows Surface looks nice, and based on the specs, you'll be able to support and manage it a lot better in the enterprise than an iPad.  The issue I have with the iPad (or iOS in general) is being locked into the Apple iTunes ecosystem.  Right now, I have an Android tablet (love it) and a Windows 8 tablet (love it, too).  The biggest drawback for the Windows 8 tablet is apps.  There's just not enough Metro-style apps available yet, but that will change as we get closer to Surface launch.  I'd switch to using the Windows 8 tablet full-time if there were enough good apps available.  Granted, all apps continue to run on the Windows 8 tablet, but its tough finger pecking in the old interfaces like Outlook 2012, etc.  There are a few apps on my Android tablet that I simply cannot live without, which makes moving to the Windows 8 tablet for good really hard to do.

I didn't even think of Andriod tablets. What tablets do you have? How easy is it connectivity wise to other machines? This was why I was thinking of waiting for the surface tablet because I figure it would be a windows OS connecting to other windows OS so it should be relatively painless. But you also brought up the point that I was thinking that the iPad already has a lot of apps already and is more of a mature tablet device in that sense.
