Hi All
I used to have a link to what I was sure was a technet article that discussed some outline best practice for installing SQL 2005 for SCCM.I cant find this link anywhere now.
The current project I am on is to recover a somewhat failed installation of an SCCM infrastructure that has 22 regional child primary sites. I have uncovered a multitude of errors and inconsistencies in the SCCM part of the installation however when it comes to the SQL part I am somewhat out of my depth with regard to setting a standard in line with best practice.
Can anybody assist with a best practice guideline for and SQL2008 R2 server install to host SCCM 2007.
Thank You

Dont ask me about scrips and stuff but if you wanna know how to bolt the tecky bits togeter with the business Requirement I could have some tips

    Hi,
There are no major differences of best practices between SQL 2005 and 2008/R2. See "Best Practices for SQL" here http://technet.microsoft..m/en-us/library/bb694127 and also this link http://technet.microsoft..../library/bb632649.aspx

This assumes that I have 2005 guidelines - which I seem to have lost.

        Cjones,

I am not sure if I can answer you question completely however I found a pretty good resource talking about some similar installations that might be of interest to you. You can check it out .

        Good Luck,

Hi, David.  If you need to post a link, let me know.  The forums prohibit links until you've posted a few times.  Sounds like you may have a good resource there.
