Build and Capture 0x80004005 when installing "applications" instead of packages

Hey everyone, Im in the process of migrating to CM12 and running into issues in the build and capture task I have setup. Any applications fail with a 0x80004005 error during the install. They apps work OK in a normal windows deployment though. I also made sure the box was checked to allow it to be installed during a task sequence. My network access account is set and works fine. The logs are pretty useless, they pretty much just say installation failed with the above error code. I did some searching and found out that some people had to join the domain in order to get it to work. So I did this, and then the apps install. But then I couldnt get the machine to disjoin the domain before it imaged. I just tried using the built in network task, and tried a reboot after it did that task, but it still wouldnt disjoin. I personally dont care which way it has to go to get the task done (though without joining the domain would be better for simplicity). Anyone have any tips to get it working one way or another? Thanks!

unless you are in a very prestine i would never recommend imaging a machine that has been previously joined to a corp domain... (even then i still wouldn't) times may have changed... but i have been 'nuked' by this in the past and makes troubleshooting a nightmare. i know that isn't much help as that error is seems to be a pretty generic one... i will see if i can duplicate.
