SQL 2008 R2 works perfectly with the existing edit.
Sherry has another blog that will show you how to do SQL 2012.

Thanks sherry. i got the exact report. can we have a separate column for SQL2008R2 because this is little bit difficult to point the servers in 2008 column. need help in adding the same in above query.

          sql08 vs. sql08r2.
That's why in the blog post I mention that you will have to use some third party source, similar to this one (whether or not you choose to use that specific one or find a better source is up to you): http://www.sqlsecurity.com/faqs-1/sql-server-versions
In the case of 08 vs. 08r2, the difference to look at is under version, 10.0.something is 08, 10.5x.something is R2.  Probably the easiest way to see that is in the sample report, toss at the bottom an order by versions, like
Order by [SQL08 Version], [SQL12 Version, [SQL05 Version]

This is exactly what I was needing as well.

I'm not an SQL expert, but is there a way to add an additional column that shows the number of logical vs. physical processors per Netbios name?

            Thanks
