DMZ server not getting updates Wednesday, June 04, 2014 12:25 PM (permalink)

We have several web servers in the DMZ. We have opened up ports 80,443, and 10123 and I have successfully been able to install the agent. However, these servers are not getting updates. We are not sure why. We tried opening ports 8530 and 8531 to the DP servers but no luck. Has anybody successfully configured DMZ servers in SCCM without using the internet based management?

Sounds like there needs to be a boundary setup for these servers.

Are the client setup as intranet or internet?
      Intranet - Probably boundary issue
Internet - Probably a proxy issue.  There is a bug in some of the versions of 2012 where you need to put a system proxy in for software updates to work. All other deployments work fine without the setting. I believe SP1 CU4 finally fixes the issue.  I have not verified it yet.
On the DMZ servers you can run the following:
      2008-2012 servers - netsh.exe winhttp set proxy thisisastupidbug.com:80 *.YOURDNSSuffix
      2003 - proxycfg -p thisisastupidbug.com:80 *.YOURDNSSuffix
