Manage DMZ servers Thursday, August 14, 2014 6:59 PM (permalink)

Hello Everyone
I am trying to figure out what I can possibly do.  I was recently asked if we can setup SCCM to manage our DMZ servers.  The catch is they don't want to open the firewall using the standard SCCM ports (80/8530).  They perfer I use HTTPS ports 443/8531 for the communication.  My CM12 site is in mixed mode because we don't have a PKI infrastrcuture in house.  Are they SOL?
Any advice is much apprecaited!
Thank you,

Kathy Lopez

Is it HTTPS they want or just alternate ports?  HTTPS would need certs.  I wonder why they care so much since CM traffic is rather boring.  The comms from clients are signed and encrypted if that helps your argument.

"depending" on what they want to do, they will have to open the ports...

      80 / 8530 / 10123  etc
