Required backend resources to run RDI Tuesday, February 07, 2017 10:07 AM (permalink)
The admin has the 400 locked down to such a degree that the RSE communications fail.
He is very reluctant to open anything up.
What SPECIFICALLY needs to be running on the 400 in order for me to work with RPG members in the editor?
Thanks in advance,

Assuming you are only using RDi to edit members with the standard built in LPEX editor and are not performing other functions (i.e. database connections via Data Studio, SQL scripts, etc) the server will require 3 pre-start jobs:
QPWFSERVSO and QZRCSRVS are started when you connect to the system in RSE.
QRWTSRVR is the DDM connection for editing the member.

The normal issue is not having the required ports open.

You will find a list of the ports on - I would give you a URL but this idiot software keeps wiping out the links!

That resource also provides links to the relevant IBM documentation.
